Fox Creek at Lake Wedowee
Expect to see swallows and Purple Martins in spring and summer, and Belted Kingfishers, wading birds, and Wood Ducks throughout the year. During the winter months, additional waterfowl, gulls, and terns appear. Keep your eyes peeled for Ospreys and Bald Eagles.

Wedowee Kiwanis Park
Be sure to check the trees and grassy areas going into the park. Follow the park road to the right (north) and enter a wooded area with a small covered bridge, a stream, and an unpaved loop road. The birding here can be quite good. Look for Hairy and Pileated woodpeckers, Red-shouldered and Cooper’s Hawks, and a wide variety of songbirds.

The campus is relatively compact and all areas are easily accessible. The entrance to the college is dominated by massive mature pine trees and tall hardwoods.
